Daphne's history is rather complex. She spent most of her life believing one thing and then experienced sudden change when she learned that it was all completely wrong.
Daphne was born in London. Her clairvoyance manifested itself early in life, but she was raised by a human family in a human society and experienced extreme ostracism and isolation because of it. When she finally reached adulthood, she left to wander on her own. This nearly ended in disaster as she was a young necromancer wandering the streets of London with no money, but she finally ran into another witch by chance. This witch was convinced that Daphne was simply a necromancer, and taught her a little about the supernatural world.
She and said witch became dear friends, but the witch was eventually killed by a wolf. Daphne's first foray into necromancy occurred. She unknowingly used her powers to take the wolf's body and give it to the spirit of the dead witch. The witch then tried to approach her in the wolf's body, but Daphne did not know what she had done and was afraid of the witch, thinking that it was really the wolf, and she killed the witch/wolf by stabbing her to death.
It was after this that Daphne fled England completely, drawn by Index's supernatural power she finally ended up there and decided to stay. In Index she began to pursue her abilities further, still believing herself to be a medium. She was afraid of her own power, and never trusted other supernaturals enough to ever try to learn from them.
One day, Daphne was confronted in a meadow in Index's forest by her true mother. She discovered that she had been raised by an adoptive family and that she was really the child of two necromancers who both came from long lines of powerful necromancers. While her father remains unknown to her, having died years before, he comes from a long line of powerful worshippers of the goddess Hel, while her mother's family is Indian and follows the ways of the Vedic deities of Hinduism.
Daphne's power grew, and she devoted herself to the worship of Hel. She remains heavily influenced by her mother, who tries to control Daphne to meet her own ends. She is obsessed with learning more about Wyrd and Orlog, the forces of fate which control the world. She believes in neither good nor evil but instead does what she thinks is just with regards to life and death. She believes in the balance of creation and destruction in the world, and uses these principals to guide her use of necromancy as a force of creation and destruction.
Daphne is quite serious, she is quite aloof but not at all shy. Her power has made her somewhat arrogant. She sees no need to interact with the mundane when there are more important matters at hand. She hates it when people look down on her (metaphorically of course) for her size, but loves to be underestimated/show up her opponents.
She does not use any social media at all and has an old flip phone which she uses primarily for calling as she does not like to text.
Daph loves thrasher metal.

She is also albino with very light blue/purple eyes and white hair. Her white skin reveals her blue veins. Her style is quite feminine, although black is usually a prominent color in her wardrobe. She also often carries Anglo Saxon symbols and talisman. Her teeth have several very prominent gaps, and she has a lip ring.
