Index was once a small and close-knit community, but the town located on the western side of Washington state has grown in recent years beyond anyone's expectations. It is the ideal place for those who work in Seattle but can't afford the city's high real estate prices, and for others the natural beauty attracts them to the town. And Index truly is a beautiful place - surrounded by thick evergreen trees, tall mountains and glistening rivers and lakes. While weather is typically rainy with overcast skies even this does nothing to take away from the beauty of the town, and it is only highlighted further when the heavy snow graces the town and caps the mountains in winter. To many, Index would seem like a paradise. And yet lurking beneath this visual beauty there is more to this town than anyone might ever imagine...

Current Time in Index, Washington:
PLAYBYS: Sims from the games Sims 2, 3 and 4 are used to visually represent player’s original characters (no characters from within the franchise are allowed). But, you do not need these games to join and roleplay! If you wish, you can post a thread in our out of character / general forum and list as many physical details about your character as you wish. The members of Index will happily try and make a character for you, and you can choose which one you feel best fits your vision.

AVATARS: Avatars should display your characters face clearly and should be at least 200 pixels tall, and 200 pixels wide.

THREADING & POSTING: When threading with multiple characters, it is important that you post only when it is your turn. This can be acheived by taking note of who has posted before you, and remember you are to always post after them. If you were the thread starter, then it is your turn after the final person has joined your thread.

When creating a thread you are required to place a tag before the title. Here are a list of types of thread you can create and how to tag each one:

[Open] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, with no limit on the number of characters.
[Open - #] Anyone is welcome to join your thread, but there is a limit on the number of characters who can join. Replace the # with how many extra characters you will allow to join your thread.
[Private] Only specific characters can join your thread.
[Closed] This tag should be used for threads that only involve your character.

ACTIVITY: To keep threads moving, people are encouraged to post within three days when it is their turn. If you do not post within three days, and you have not asked people to wait for you, it is possible you will be skipped. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. While we'd love for everyone to be active every day, we understand that real life and other hobbies are just as important, if not more. We want you to be active because you want to be, not because a rule is telling you to be.

MATURITY RATING: Public threads should all be PG. If roleplayers above the age of 18 wish to post content that could be could be considered graphic then it should be hidden from view using the [hide] [/hide] code, which will enable only those in the threads and administrators to view the content.

The image before me looked like a Rosson Crow painting, only instead of vibrant colors, there were only shades of red dripping down the walls and furniture. There were only shades of red painting the faces of strangers, mangled on the floor. The post apocalyptic nature of what I was seeing should have struck a chord. It should have made me fear. I should have been comparing myself to a nuclear bomb and sobbing over the carnage I had caused, begging for someone to help me find my way, to teach me how to feed without killing... To teach me how to not feel so elated at the sound of the final breath escaping each and every one of them. But there was no ghostly conscience here. There was no angel on my shoulder, telling me to feel remorse. There was just me, licking my fingers like some kind glutton, and staring at my mess as if I were sitting at the beach and watching the river run by. Not particularly interesting, just something to look at.

I got up from the chesterfield, it had given me much comfort while I let my food settle, but it's purpose had been served. The sound of my heels hitting the hard wood floors echoed throughout the high ceilings and obnoxiously large halls. What kind of crimes did a human need to commit in order to live so lavishly? Lawyers, doctors, mayors, they all worked hard to earn a comfortable living, but they all committed their own versions of moral crimes to achieve such comfort...

I knelt down to grab the leg of one of the men I had fed from, and dragged him face down, behind me as I began licking the blood off of my other fingers. A trail of red outlined the path I had taken. From one corner of the living room, all the way to the piano. I had a few hours to kill before I could retrieve Gayle's gift, and I was craving something to fill the silence. So, in a blur of speed, both of us were sitting at the white baby grand at the opposite corner of the room. The view in front of us was gorgeous, the city of Index, it's lights from up above. It was so romantic. Until his body slumped forward and head hit the keys causing a ghastly sound to fill the room. I moved him upright, and propped his head up on my shoulder, but his arm slid forward, his lifeless hand rubbing against my leg. Now, now, Mr. Harrison. Your wife is watching! I turned my head over my shoulder, catching her glazed over eyes staring in our direction. Her lifeless body oddly relaxed looking considering her leg was detached.

I turned back around and let my left hand run over the keys. A simple and easy melody, something a child could play, but hauntingly beautiful considering the moment... My company... The view. It was the perfect ambient to accompany my voice. I told you about my progeny, didn't I? Mr. Harrison? His head began slipping off of my shoulder, down my breasts... And finally, his head was in my lap. Now is not the time to be forward Mr. Harrison, I'm trying to speak with you! I only stopped playing for a moment, but immediately continued, leaving his head where he was clearly most comfortable. I know you're a lawyer, and I wouldn't dream of taking my progeny to court. I don't wish to cause him pain, I only wish him by my side. He can love, feed, fuck, I would give him that freedom to share all of that with anyone he chooses, and I wouldn't expect anything from him but his loyalty and presence. I crave my family to be a family? Is that so much to ask? The life in Mr. Harrison hadn't left yet. He was young, younger than Benjamin, but older than I. His wife was pregnant, his home was beautiful. Everything about his life, on the outside, appeared perfect. But I knew the secrets he kept to himself. The deals he had made, the murders he had committed...

I finally stopped playing and moved his body back to the floor, this time, on his pack, and I climbed on top of him, straddling him as I leaned forward so I could look into his eyes. You didn't love your wife? Concerned tension in my eyebrows accompanied my question, but all I got in return was the sound of shallow breathing. It's okay Mr. Harrison, you will know love. You will love me, and I will love you, and this will make Benjamin come back to us. Don't you see? You're the missing piece Mr. Harrison. You're the one that will make our family, Gayle, Benjamin, myself... You, you will make our family whole. Red began seeping from my eyes as I bit into his neck, taking the rest of his blood from his body. I bit into my wrist, You will fix us. I said one last time, before feeding him my blood.
